Cleaning Upholstered Furniture

Is the upholstery on your patio furniture looking dirty and dingy? Here’s a great way to keep your cushions looking like new. Brush off any loose dirt. Use a sponge or soft bristle brush and one-quarter cup mild dish soap for a gallon of lukewarm water. Let the soapy water soak into the fabric, rinse it clean, and let your upholstery air-dry. Then, you’ll want to retreat your sun-resistant fabric with a water repellent spray finish. Two thin layers work much better than one heavy coat. So, use a light touch. Then, just kick back and enjoy the great outdoors.

  • Bristle Brush
  • 1/4 cup Dish Soap Mixed with 1 Gallon of Water
  • Spray Bottle
  • Sponge
  • Water Repellent Spray Finish
